Registration is now open online for the 15th Annual Over the Edge fundraiser at the iconic Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa on October 19.
Calling all thrill seekers! Don’t miss your chance to be one of less than 100 individuals participating in the 15th Annual Over the Edge fundraiser
benefiting Special Olympics Hawaii. This year’s event will take place Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, where participants have the unique opportunity to rappel more than 400 feet down the side of the hotel and experience truly breathtaking views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. Participants are strongly encouraged to sign up today at give.classy.org/overtheedge2024 as an individual or create a team with your co-workers, friends, or family. Early bird registration is currently available through August 1, with a reduced fee of $50. For those registering after August 1, the registration fee is $100 per participant. The team member registration fee is $25 and registration for returning participants is free. For the safety of those participating, individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the event and sign a consent waiver. Participants must weigh between 100 and 300 pounds. All participants are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 in donations.
“This year we’re excited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Over the Edge,” said Special Olympics Hawaii’s Director of Development, Tracey Bender. “Over the Edge is a one-of-a-kind event and one that our team and supporters look forward to each year and we are thrilled to bring our community another exceptional experience unlike anything they’ve done before, all while supporting our amazing athletes.”
All participants will receive a commemorative 15th anniversary Over the Edge t-shirt. Additional prizes will be available to those who raise more than the $1,000 minimum. Monies raised through Over the Edge remain in Hawaii and support local athletes across the state. Since 2009, Over the Edge has raised more than $1,864,516 for Special Olympics Hawaii athletes and programs.
A special mahalo to Love’s Brand and the Hawaii Food Alliance for supporting this year’s event as Gold Medal Sponsors and to the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa for being the host of this event for the 10th year. Those who wish to support Special Olympics Hawaii but do not want to participate in Over the Edge can also make a donation by visiting give.classy.org/overtheedge2024 and make a donation to any one of our brave participants.
This year’s Over the Edge event hopes to raise $200,000 for Special Olympics Hawaii. For more information on Special Olympics Hawaii, please visit www.sohawaii.org.
